Deal or No Deal? Generic Medications Manufactured Overseas
With recent headlines warning of possible contaminants in numerous maintenance medications produced internationally, this presentation will shed light on how these medications are regulated compared to their domestic counterparts, how they may pose concerns among our patients, and what pharmacists can do to stay informed and effectively address these concerns.

Colorado's Opioid Solution-Clinicians United to Resolve the Epidemic (CO's CURE): Colorado Pharmacists Society Best Practice Recommendations
In 2019, CPS joined multiple other organizations in Colorado to support the launch of a new initiative to address the opioid epidemic. This initiative, entitled CO’s CURE, brings together diverse specialties to create guidelines targeting the four pillars of the initiative: limiting opioid use, using alternatives to opioids for the treatment of pain, implementing harm reduction strategies, and improving the treatment and referral of patients with Opioid Use Disorder. This session will cover the CO’s CURE project and the best practice recommendations develop by a team of pharmacists from different practice settings.

Dietary Supplements: Complementary or Confusing?
Herbal and non-botanical dietary supplements have been a multi-billion dollar industry in the United States for three decades, with up to half the population reporting use of such products during the last year. But shortcomings in product regulation and advertising present challenges to the practitioner in advising patients on the appropriateness and safety of the use of supplements. Improvements in the quality of professional information sources and independent product testing have broadened the scope of resources available to busy practitioners, but some drawbacks remain. This program aims to provide the practitioner with a working knowledge of dietary supplement resources on safety, efficacy and product quality.

The Role of Pharmacist in Screening for and Managing Depression
Major Depressive Disorder is among the most common conditions the healthcare profession faces in serving our communities. Pharmacists can play a critical role in the screening, triage, and management of depression. In this session, we will review the knowledge and skills that will prepare you for such encounters, whatever your practice setting may be. Particular focus will be directed at how individuals experience depression, and how to engage them in a meaningful conversation about pursuing treatment.

Cannabidiol (CBD): Getting the Facts for Pharmacists
Cannabidiol (CBD) is approved by the Food and Drug Administration and is available over-the-counter when made from hemp. Despite being marketed for a variety of conditions including inflammation, pain, insomnia, and anxiety, the evidence is not clear about its effectiveness or legal status. Pharmacists may be uncertain about how to discuss the use of CBD with patients. It is necessary for pharmacists to have an understanding of CBD formulations, the evidence to date, potential drug interactions, and other key issues so that pharmacists are better able to discuss the use of CBD with patients.

Flip the Pharmacy: Transforming Community Pharmacy Practice
This session will give a brief overview of the national Flip the Pharmacy initiative that has been rolled out through the Community Pharmacy Foundation and the Community Pharmacy Enhanced Services Network (CPESN) USA.  Flip the Pharmacy involves moving away from filling prescriptions at a moment in time to "caring for patients over time".  Leveraging the appointment-based model and medication synchronization, the initiative seeks to hold meaningful interactions with patients on a regular basis to optimize their health and understanding about their medications and their diseases.
